We all have them. Those coords we dreamed of and, for one reason or another, never worked out. Maybe, one day, we can build them, but for today they remain dreams.
I'd like to share some of mine.
Also, for all you old PolyVore fans, I made these using ShopLook! It's extremely similar and I'm so glad I finally found a replacement after all these years.
1. Starry Candy Bottle
I love this print from Metamorphose, and it was the first dress I ever ordered straight from a brand! I got it in the off-white colorway (shown above) and fell especially in love with the little star-shaped candies in some of the jars. I really wanted to build a coordinate based around them. Ignore the blouse, this was my first time using ShopLook and I gave up on excising it from the JSK.
Outfit Breakdown:

2. Lady Marie's Chemise
I owned this OP quite a long time ago and wore it so often. Innocent World came out with their Westminster print and I desperately wanted those OTKs to pair with the dress! It sadly never happened, but I still think about what could have been. Though this is meant to be an underdress, I wanted this to be a very simple outfit, as the chemise reminds me of the French robe en chemise; the style of dress was brought to popularity by Marie Antoinette as a backlash against the lavish court styles, so simplicity is the point.

3. Fancy Rabbit Picnic
Okay, you've got to hear me out: once upon a time, I found a lady's tophat on Etsy. It was structured much like the one in this coordinate, but for one difference: two little tufts of that tulle veil sticking up to gently suggest rabbit ears. It was perfect. I can't find it anymore to show you. But I had Metamorphose's Rabbit Cafe print by then and I realized that I could coordinate the dress to mimic one of the cute little bunnies!
I'm sad that there aren't higher quality images of this guy! He's at tea, wearing a tophat and a red vest! I thought it would be so cute to match him. People at the time didn't think it would work. To be fair, this is definitely what I'd consider a meet-up or convention coord. But still, I held on to that hope. Annnnd then eventually sold the dress.
For this coordinate, I went with the tea theme and added some cups and pots in the accessories! They also help pull together the red to make the vest work. Adding some bows to bring in the bowtie really tops off the look for me. The gloves even have tiny rabbit charms on them! How perfect!

I really loved getting to make and share these! The nostalgia was fun and helped me get a little more creative about coordination. I have a preference for simpler and more casual outfits, but stretching myself out of my comfort zone - even in theory, like this - brings me a lot of joy. To leave you off, I offer this advice: don't let your daydreams stay in your head! Go out and make those coords you've been mentally building and have fun!
